Can Positive Thinking Help Transform Your Life?

Your thinking and beliefs affect everything you do

Thoughts are powerful things. They control us and everything we do. They even have the power to create our realities. Sounds cliche, but it’s true. If you can harness the power of positive thinking, you’ll start to attract positive things into your life.

Positive thinking is thinking about what you want and how to get it instead of thinking about the things you do not want. Positive people think about their goals, their actions, and they make it a priority every day. This does not mean they never have negative thoughts, it means they can quickly replace negative thoughts with positive ones as soon as they come in.

It is normal as humans to have negative thoughts. The problem is we somehow pay more attention to negative emotions like anger, sadness, regret, and worry than we do good feelings like gratitude, joy, and happiness. And that’s the reason bad news seems to stay with us longer than good news.

But the thing is, thinking positive thoughts attracts more positive things to you while thinking negative thoughts attract more of the same thing. Like attracts like, so if you keep a negative, pessimistic view on life, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Positive thinking is something you can practice and get better at with time.

Negative thinking becomes a habit

We become addicted to our negative thinking. But we can practice changing negative thoughts into positive ones. If you’re worried and focusing on what could go wrong in a situation, change your thoughts to what could go right. Make a conscious effort to think positive thoughts even when you are tempted to only see the things that are wrong. There is always a bright side to every situation.

Negative thinking is a survival strategy that causes us to look for what is wrong so we can protect ourselves against danger, but it is a terrible strategy because our thoughts create reality. So instead of preventing bad things from happening, they manifest themselves into your reality. Negative thinking is a bad habit and it could even make you sick.

Negative thinking becomes addicting if you do it long enough, even though positive thoughts feel so much better. We spend little time appreciating the goodness in our lives and we spend hours, days, maybe even years ruminating on the negative things that happened to us in the past.

But the addiction to negative thinking can be overcome once you decide not to allow them to control your life anymore. You can change your negative thinking the moment you make the choice to replace your negative thoughts with positive ones.

Positive thinking is more than just being happy all the time. Positive thoughts also create your reality and the experiences you attract to you. Thinking about the things you want makes you happier. It puts you in control of your life.

Positive thinking is looking for valuable lessons in every setback or challenge. Instead of getting upset and blaming others for our problems, we can learn from it so we can make better choices in the future.

The moment you shift how you think about yourself and your circumstances, both you and the circumstances will change. Negative thoughts influence the world around you and bring about more negative things while positive thoughts bring about positive experiences.

Thoughts and Beliefs

Our thinking and beliefs on a subconscious level affect our wealth, health, success, and our failures. What we believe determines what we make true. Our perception of reality, the way we think about ourselves and the world, is determined by the things we believe.

Your beliefs are formed in your childhood and also by the thoughts in your head. Change a belief and you change the reality you experience.

Money making skills for an example are learned and begin with a desire to believe it’s possible. What we believe is based on our perception, what we perceive depends upon what we look for, and what we look for depends upon what we think.

Good things happen by the belief that good things should happen. Expect to be happy and you open yourself up to be happy. You have to break/through a mindset made up of years of negative programming by dealing with issues of beliefs at the deepest levels of your being and anchoring these beliefs deep into your subconscious mind where they are formed.

To change negative thinking, you must rewrite the core set of beliefs that form your thinking and affect your reality. You must change the things you perceive to be true. What we accept to be true is true or becomes true, and any evidence contrary to our core beliefs is rejected or perceptually modified by the brain.

If you’ve heard all your life that you’ll never amount to anything or you believe being happy is impossible, then this mindset is rooted deep into your subconscious mind and that’s the reality you experience.

Positive thinkers think about the things they can change. They think about things they have control over and they think about the things they want. Negative thinkers do the opposite and think about the things that make them sad, angry, and worried, usually past events, and they think of who’s to blame for their problems.

Taking control of the mind

The way to take control of your mind is to think about the things you want to see manifest. Think about what you want and how to get it. You’ll automatically start to feel happy, positive, and in control.

It’s easy to go through life holding on to things that are weighing you down. In fact, that makes you human. But when you allow guilt, doubt, regret, and constant worry into your mind, it takes the space of the good things that are supposed to be there. It takes the space of the blessings, the confidence, and the creativity you need.

With negative thinking, you don’t know the power of your thoughts until you experience the aftermath of them. Until you attract negative things into your life. And when you manifest negative things, you deny your thoughts had anything to do with them.

Give no place to worry. Give no place to regret. Negative thoughts don’t come and automatically take over; you can control every single thought in your head.

We all think negative thoughts every now and then but you have to make the choice to not allow the worries and the regrets valuable space to poison your mind. Make the effort to replace negative thoughts with better feeling thoughts.

Protect your mind and the thoughts you give energy to. When negative thoughts come in, simply observe them without attachment and kindly let them go. Do not entertain negative thinking by feeding it energy.

Thoughts are powerful things that can create your reality. They can either create a positive reality or a very negative one. You can change your life for better or worse. It’s all in the choice you make and how badly you want to see positive results instead of negative.

If you struggle with constant negative thinking, a life coach can help you take your power back.
